About

My story

PhD Immunology, Authorised ashtanga yoga teacher, Certified Yoga4Health Teacher

I first began practicing yoga at age 15 -16 in my home town of Derby, England. Under the strain of studying for my school exams, a library book formed the basis in establishing my first self-paced yoga practice.

Yoga was a trusted, dedicated companion to help me in all my years of school, university and PhD research. It was upon moving to Lisbon, Portugal in 2008 to study for my PhD, that I started regularly practicing ashtanga yoga, at a traditional shala.

Upon completing my PhD in 2013, I dedicated myself to learning and teaching the traditional practise of ashtanga yoga under my mentor, Isa Guitana Wong.

I fulfilled my dream trip to Mysore, India in 2015. And In 2018, I received my authorisation to teach ashtanga yoga. I devoted 10 years to building the premier ashtanga yoga shala, Casa Vinyasa, in Lisbon.

In 2020, I began my own teaching business, and took my first step towards joining my two passions of biomedical science with the science of yoga.

My PhD research into Immunology, continues in my teachings and programs, as I unify my background and strengths in science with my love of health and yoga.

I love to connect people to their health through yoga practices. And through a long standing respect for maintaining health through essential care practises, I realised my purpose lies in teaching and establishing yoga as a much needed practice of healthcare.

"Life enhancing solutions is the new modern health care practice".
